Tree Surveys For Insurance & Mortgages.
Property insurers frequently require a tree survey or risk assessment before providing building insurance.
The aim is to provide a general opinion of the health and safety of a tree and how it impacts the property.
It would indentify defects in the tree including dead or failing branches, decay and fungal bodies, poor branch and union structure.
If the tree is located in an area where the public have access perhaps a commercial property, or even a property that has footpaths running through the land, tree surveys are vital to assess and be able to manage the risk, showing due diligence.
BS5837 Development Site Tree Survey.
A BS5837 tree survey is an assessment for trees located in a development site, providing information to accompany a planning application.
The arbicultural consultant will evaluates the trees on the site and documenting the condition and value of each.
The aim is always to retain as many trees as possible especially trees of note or merit.
If retention is impossible, options are considered to mitigate the impact, be that relocate the tree if possible, or removal and a plan for replacement of suitable trees in an acceptable location.
The survey also considers how trees on a development site may impact the design and development.
